For Such A Time As This

“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?" Esther 4:14 NIV

The Lord placed this verse on my heart while I was at church and reflecting on recent tragic events here in Las Vegas. Almost sixty innocent people were dead with another 500 injured at the hands of a gunman who, while some may call sick, I would consider to be evil.

A crime of this magnitude had left our community shocked and shaken to its core. Our Lord; however, was not caught off guard, and He reminded me that he has already prepared each of us in advance for the trials that would come our way.

He knew we would face the battle of our lifetimes as moms of sons and daughters struggling with addiction. He also knew we were cut out for the task. And that's why I started this group...to remind you that you (we) are more than able to do this!

As moms, we may get down but we can't stay there! As Christians, we may feel defeated but we are more than conquerors so we can do this. It's not easy but we can! But we can't do it on our own. We need the Lord and his power to walk through every single second of our trials.

It's about changing our perspective. Are we focused on our circumstances and on fixing our broken kids or are we focused on the Healer of the brokenhearted?

The Lord has called us to a deeper faith where only complete trust can carry us. He will reveal himself to us as we seek him and him alone. His will, his direction, his guidance.

So, my goal for each of you is that you realize your divine opportunity here. You can be a source of hope and inspiration to those around you. Yes, it would be easy to give into depression and feel defeated. We all have been there, but let's make it our goal to not stay there.

Esther could have refused to step out in faith if she had listened to fear yelling in her ear. Instead, she chose to silence its voice and step up into her royal God-ordained role.

Like Esther, why not consider that you just might be fully prepared for such a time as this?

Dear Lord.

We pray that you will give us boldness in the face of uncertainty. May we be reminded always that you have place us here at this exact moment for a purpose. Thank you, Lord.

Amen.

Beautiful Blessings, Dawn
